Seems that Mother Nature had other plans for the Silver Sword planting set for Jan 12. The weather guy says that there is a 100% chance for heavy showers. The rain that came down 2 days ago was enough to cause damage to the dirt roads that will lead us to the planting area. Lance and his crew at the D.L.N.R. were able to make the necessary repairs and clear some fallen trees to make the road passable but with the expected storm that is due tomorrow, he has wisely chosen to postpone the trip until the 26 of Jan.
Hopefully this will give these storms the time needed to do their thing which is to get all of that moisture onto the ground into the Maui watershed. It has been a very dry few years and the trees really need it.
So, check back on updates on the newly scheduled Jan 26th volunteer trip.
